Fish were collected and tested at these various sites and were found to contain elevated levels of PFAS that the Maine CDC has deemed too high for regular consumption.

Health authorities issue advisory Thursday warning about consuming fish taken from fresh water in Fairfield, Oakland, Unity and Waterville. Fish taken from other waters also had elevated levels of the chemicals.
