Major John Errington, the oldest veteran of the Royal Scots regiment who fought in rearguard defence at the battle of Le Paradis in Northern France in 1940, has died at his family home, east of Penicuik.
Major John Errington was a Signals Officer in the 1st Battalion The Royal Scots . He fought at the battle of Le Paradis in May 1940, before being captured by the Germans and living as a POW until 1945.
