India’s multi-pronged war against the covid pandemic is best embodied by Mahatma Gandhi’s adage that “action expresses priorities . This war needed to be fought proactively on multiple fronts that included securing medical infrastructure, increasing covid testing capacities, ramping up production of medical essentials such as oxygen and life-saving drugs, and evolving a roadmap to vaccinate every willing citizen in India. In each of these areas, the ground we needed to cover was enormous either because information on the virus was continuously evolving or because of legacy issues around medical-infrastructure readiness.

JAMMU, Apr 29: To ensure the smooth and hassle free availability of Covid Management Drugs in the Pharma Distribution Channels, the Drug Control Officers under the direct supervision of Assistant Drugs Controller, Jammu carried out simultaneous surprise inspections in and around the tertiary care hospitals and the Covid Designated Hospitals in Jammu.
The primary objective and focus of the constituted teams was to ensure that the Covid Management/allied Life Saving Drugs are sold strictly as per the mandate of law and to curb unnecessary panic buying & hoarding of such medicines in the large patient care.
The teams of the Drug Control Officers during these surprise inspections observed that some pharma dealers were engaged and indulging in panic sale of Covid Management & other Life Saving Medicines to the customers.

Delhi govt gives directions for forming task force for action against black-marketing of life-saving drugs ANI | Updated: Apr 27, 2021 00:01 IST
New Delhi [India], April 26 (ANI): The Delhi government has directed all district magistrates to constitute special task force to take strict action against those involved in hoarding and black-marketing of life-saving drugs which are used for treating coronavirus patients.
The order asked the district magistrates to constitute a special task force with the help of the deputy commissioners of police in the district for inspecting, checking, raiding, and stopping the manufacturing and supply of spurious drugs.
All district magistrates and DCPs will issue necessary directives to all field functionaries and the special task force for taking the strictest action against the black marketeers, hoarders, and manufacturers and suppliers of spurious drugs, the order said.
