Ajijaak on Turtle Island creators to discuss puppeteering at Lied Center

Ajijaak, the puppeted whooping crane who makes an incredible journey through North America, will soon be flying its way to the Lied Center for Performing Arts.  On March 4 at 7:30 p.m., the Lied Center for Performing Arts will interview the creators of “Ajijaak on Turtle Island,” along with showing a preview of the show as part of their Lied Live Online series. The panel will consist of puppeteer Heather Henson, author and director Ty Defoe and composer Dawn Avery. After the panel, a short preview of the show’s premiere event in New York City will be shown to the audience. The event is free and available to be livestreamed with a ticket reservation.

Lied Center Announces 2021 Spring Season Featuring Kelli O Hara, Michelle Ellsworth and More Tickets for spring shows go on sale to the public February 9 at 11 a.m.by BWW News Desk The Lied Center is presenting one of the most diverse programs of events in the nation this spring, featuring the world s top artists. Responding to the COVID19 pandemic, nearly all spring season events will feature both in-person and virtual attendance options. From Tony Award-winning Broadway stars to virtuosic musicians and headline entertainment, the Lied Center s 2021 Spring Season provides something for everyone in a time when we all need the arts more than ever.

Entertainment calendar for Dec 18-24

Events Opening of “Love Looks Like This – A Magical Christmas Drive By Experience,” 6-9 p.m., First Plymouth Church, 2000 D St., Lincoln. This Christmas wonderland will provide a drive-by option for those who enjoy Christmas lights and music. The church will be lit for viewing from all sides, nightly from Dec. 18-24. The display also will feature human-scale animal puppets roaming the forest of trees and musicians performing outside the church. A transmitter will be used to allow viewers to tune in the music on a car radio. This event is free and open to the public. One hundred percent of freewill donations will go to support CEDARS Home for Children.
