Mayor jim kenney intends to use the millions raised for philadelphias pre k initiative, rec centers, other programs and the controversial decision to kick money into the general fu fund. Of course mayor kenney quiet pleased but not everyone is happy. Certainly a long road to get here, but this is the beginning of the process of changing the narrative of poverty in our ci city. Were all disappoint, because it creates attacks against the poor people of philadelphia. Mayor kenney says he plans to sign the legislation monday. The tax kicks in at the beginning of next year.
