AudioUK appoints Chloe Straw as Managing Director

Audio production trade body AudioUK has appointed Chloe Straw as its new Managing Director.
Straw was previously Head of Content and Production at award-winning production company We Are Grape, where she has been based for the last four years, in addition to working as a social media strategist. She has also worked with the BBC and production company Somethin’ Else.
As well as being a Board member at AudioUK for two years from 2017, Straw was the Head of Digital for its training arm Audiotrain. She will take up her new post at AudioUK on 17 June, replacing former MD Will Jackson and subsequent acting MD Tim Wilson.
Metropolis Studios to host world’s first hybrid 5G Festival this weekend

The first ever 5G Festival is set to take place this weekend, with a newly formed band performing live from two separate venues – London’s Metropolis Studios and the Brighton Dome on the UK’s south coast.
The band, aptly named The Remotes, have never met each other before and will perform together live on Saturday 12 June via the 5G network.
The drummer will be based at Metropolis while the rest of the band will be in Brighton. They will collaborate remotely to write and perform a totally new song.
YouTube paid out more than $4 billion (£2.8bn) to the music industry over the last 12 months, according to new figures from the Google-owned video streaming platform.
