Taipei, Dec. 24 (CNA) Taiwan s success in containing the coronavirus has been selected by CNA as the top domestic news story of 2020, while President Tsai Ing-wen s (蔡英文) re-election victory was picked as the second-biggest story of the year.

Taipei, Dec. 18 (CNA) The Taipei District Court ruled on Friday that two lawmakers involved in a bribery scandal related to a dispute over the ownership of SOGO Department Store be detained for another two months.
After receiving the approval of the Legislature earlier in the day, the court announced that Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Su Chen-ching (蘇震清) and Kuomintang (KMT) lawmaker Liao Kuo-tung (廖國棟) will be detained for another two months because of their involvement in the case.
