Taiwan's success in curbing COVID-19 tops domestic CNA news of 2020

Taipei, Dec. 24 (CNA) Taiwan's success in containing the coronavirus has been selected by CNA as the top domestic news story of 2020, while President Tsai Ing-wen's (蔡英文) re-election victory was picked as the second-biggest story of the year.
2020's top 10 domestic stories listed as of Nov. 30 are as follows:
1. While COVID-19 has taken a devastating toll on numerous people across the world, Taiwan has been successful in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. Statistics show that as of Nov. 30, Taiwan had recorded 675 cases of COVID-19, with seven deaths (for latest figures: the Centers for Disease Control), while Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) was the only professional baseball league to operate in April amid the COVID-19 pandemic. To help mitigate the economic impact of the pandemic, the government rolled out several stimulus voucher programs.
