Will finally meet the new chief of the Oakland Police department. This is a department that hasnt had a chief since several scandals broke last summer. So this is a big deal and also what michelle just said this is the first woman to be appointed police chief in the city of oakland in its history. The mayor wants a Culture Shift within the Oakland Police department so that could be the first step. Lets take a look at the resume of the woman just named oaklands new police chief. Her name is Anne Kirkpatrick. She was born and raised in memphis. She is a lawyer, most recently the chief of bureau of professional standards for the chicago Police Department. She started that gig june of last year and before that, she was the chief deputy at the King County Sheriffs Department in seattle. Before that, she was the police chief in spokane from 2006 to 2012.
