Andrew Ciaglo potted a pair of second-half goals and visiting Hopkins Academy scored a 3-0 victory over Pioneer in boys soccer season-finale action Saturday night in Northfield.
Hopkins finished its Fall II season 5-0-2 overall, the lone unbeaten team in the area on the boys side.
Greg Kucinski staked the Golden Hawks to a 1-0 lead with a free kick from 25 yards out in the first half. Ciaglo’s second-half goals were assisted by Colin Earle and Chris Mushenski.
In action late Friday night, Pioneer fell to Smith Academy, 3-0, on the boys side.

Andrew Ciaglo potted a pair of second-half goals and visiting Hopkins Academy scored a 3-0 victory over Pioneer in boys soccer season-finale action Saturday night in Northfield.

Seniors Addy Phiffer, Bobby Klesch, Mushenski and Kucinski played flawless defense in front of classmate Jack Feltovic, who made three saves for his first clean sheet of the season.

Holding a 23-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, Hopkins Academy’s Andrew Ciaglo put to doubt any chance of a Turners Falls comeback with an explosive second quarter.
The senior scored 16 of his 24 points in the second frame and added another eight points in the third quarter his final basket his 1,000th point with the Golden Hawks as Hopkins ran away with a 89-37 victory over the Thunder Wednesday night in Hadley.
