The Turners Falls and Frontier softball teams have had plenty of time to stew over their championship game losses two years ago.
The Thunder blitzed through the Western Mass. Div. 3 tournament, crushed Hopedale in the state semis but fell to Austin Prep in the championship game. The seventh-seeded Redhawks made a run of their own in the Western Mass Div. 2 tourney, reaching the championship game before losing to Hampshire at UMass.

Andrew Ciaglo potted a pair of second-half goals and visiting Hopkins Academy scored a 3-0 victory over Pioneer in boys soccer season-finale action Saturday night in Northfield.
Hopkins finished its Fall II season 5-0-2 overall, the lone unbeaten team in the area on the boys side.
Greg Kucinski staked the Golden Hawks to a 1-0 lead with a free kick from 25 yards out in the first half. Ciaglo’s second-half goals were assisted by Colin Earle and Chris Mushenski.
In action late Friday night, Pioneer fell to Smith Academy, 3-0, on the boys side.
