India News: NEW DELHI: Four earthquakes jolted Nepal in quick succession with tremors reverberating through parts of north India including Delhi-NCR on Tuesday.
Scientists are exploring whether the strong earthquake that struck Nepal and the surrounding region on Tuesday is responsible for the south Lhonak lake outburst, which triggered a flash flood in the Teesta river basin in Sikkim.
The South Lhonak Lake in Sikkim that burst its boundaries early Wednesday displayed a "very high probability of sudden outburst" that could trigger flash floods downstream, scientists warned back in 2013.
