This week, as Brexit took effect, a company in Cork that sells sports posters to Europe and around the world ceased all direct online sales to the UK. There s no point having the hassle, said Wayne Mullins, a graphic designer who runs Kobe Designs. I ll just not send to the UK. I ll keep selling to the [United] States and the rest of the world.

Bloor Homes and Taylor Wimpey have submitted a joint planning application to build up to 500 homes on land off Sandy Lane and Tabley Lane in Cottam, north-west of Preston city centre.
The site forms part of the North West Preston Strategic Location zone, 788 acres south of the M55, which is allocated for residential development of up to 5,300 properties.
Bloor and Taylor Wimpey’s proposals are for a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom family homes and also a local centre that could feature retail and leisure facilities.
In addition, an area of land within the site has been earmarked for the construction of a secondary school.

The batch of Labour candidates followed Jeremy Corbyn into the party s worst election result since 1935
Many struggled to shake the politics itch and have side-stepped into advisory or campaigning roles
Others have forged a completely new career as a director of a spinner s mill or Mongolian trade champion
