MANCHESTERÂ â The town of Manchesterâs budget process kicked off Wednesday night, as Selectboard members began the work of evaluating the spending plan for fiscal 2022.
Town Manager John O Keefe emphasized the FY22 budget is still a work in progress. That said, it currently anticipates a tax increase of 4.86 percent for the 15 percent municipal share of property tax bills. That s higher than we d like it to be, O Keefe said.Â
In the past, the Selectboard has tackled the entire spending plan in one day-long session at the Park House at Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park. This year, the five-person board, meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is splitting the budget into two shorter sessions.. The second will start at 9 a.m. Friday and can be watched on Zoom from a link on the town calendar.Â
