Fastmoving flames ripped through homes and businesses in la hina town. Video showing plumes of thick smoke billowing in the air fields that have been scorched. We know some people fled into the ocean with the coast guard having to rescue several people. Phone lines are down people. We spoke with this morning at san jose airport saying they were unable to get into contact with family. They were planning to visit flights from all bay area. Airports to hawaii have either b

Today were wishing a great first day and year for all of those returning students in palo alto. Welcome back to school today. Summer is over. Yay. Im not ready for back to school just yet. The weather is cooperating. It feels nice. Were not dealing with extreme heat, even in the inland valleys. Lets head to martinez where we are going to see temperatures in the low 60s as you head out the door. Then we see the trend going from 60 to low 70s. Not a big warmup, at least for the next few hours. We take a look at our high temperatures for today. Well reach 78 degrees there and in concord, as well as livermore and morgan hill, 83 degrees, matching temperatures for some of our warmer spots in the inland valleys.
