San Bernardino County progresses toward California s yellow tier but work remains
Victorville Daily Press
San Bernardino County is progressing toward another COVID-19-related transition, this time to the yellow tier of California s reopening plan, which would mean the opening of more businesses with fewer restrictions, officials said this week.
As of Tuesday, the county’s adjusted case rate stood at 2.9 per 100,000 people, with an overall COVID-19 positivity rate of 1.7% and an equity positivity rate of 1.8%, county Chief Operating Officer Leonard Hernandez said during a Board of Supervisors meeting.
“We are making progress towards that,” he said. “I want to thank not only our staff but the entire community and our network of trusted communicators and providers of the vaccines for that progress.”
Hospital chief recognized
Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital recently announced President and CEO, Leonard Hernandez, was recognized as one of Ingram’s Magazine’s ‘50 Kansans You Should Know’ Class of 2021.

“We are thrilled, yet not surprised Leonard was chosen for such a deserving recognition,” said Suzie Locke, President of the Board of Trustees of SBAMH. “Our board knew Leonard had the experience and drive to take our hospital to the next level, and this selection exemplifies one of many reasons why Leonard is a great fit.”
