The Revolutionary Socialist Movement (RSM) has urged the National Judicial Commission (NJC) to call for a public enquiry into the continued incarceration of Inibehe Effiong, an activist and legal practitioner, who was remanded in custody on the order of the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State. The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom, Ekaette Obot has finally furnished human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong with a copy of the judgement committing him to prison. SaharaReporters, however, learnt that the copy released by the judge had been doctored to prevent embarrassment for her over the illegal incarceration of the lawyer. On July 27, Effiong was sent to prison by the state chief judge after the lawyer reportedly protested against the presence of armed policemen in court.
