Right now 95 wildfires are burning in the western u. S. And tonight the u. S. Military is answering an urgent call for help. At least 100 troops have been called up in Washington State. The first deployment of active duty soldiers to battle fires in nine years. The fires are burning across at least six states. The stakes are high, and so is the cost. 100 million a week. At that rate Officials Say the money will run out next month. Our team is deployed across the region. Lets start in chelan, washington with National Correspondent miguel almaguer. Miguel . Reporter hey, lester, good evening. Heavy smoke hangs in the air here. Behind me there is destruction. In front of me two miles ahead a wildfire is moving in multiple directions. At least 56,000 acres here have been destroyed. More than 32 homes are gone. This as that fire is on the move.

tom kierein is here to talk about our forecast. no pressure on you, tom. we like this forecast. you re going to feel like you re swimming through humidity. yuck. that bad? it s pretty humid. it s on the mild side. around 2 region, upper 60s to low 60s out in the mountains. shenandoah valley, closer to washington, nearby suburbs, prince george s, arlington, fairfax, all locations around 70. parts of southern maryland right near the bay. mid 70s there. and also a few downpours with some thunder and lightning showing up on storm4 radar. lower part of the bay, right along virginia tide water from the northern neck down to southeastern virginia. these are drifting off to the north and east heading toward the west. some breaks in the clouds. and we ll have a little sunshine in and out today. here s your day planner. by 8:00 this morning we should be in the mid 70s. then by noontime, 1:00 or so, we should be in the 80s. and then maybe an afternoon shower or thunder shower
