Seven-year contract extension keeps Menâs and Womenâs basketball at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse have agreed to a seven-year contract extension to host the MAC Menâs and Womenâs Basketball Tournament at the FieldHouse through 2030. The current agreement expires in 2023.
The announcement was made today by MAC Commissioner, Dr. Jon A. Steinbrecher, and Cavaliers and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse CEO, Len Komoroski during a press conference held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

CLEVELAND News that the number of COVID-19 cases continues to drop here and in much of country has the entertainment industry setting the stage for the return of concerts and shows.
Len Komoroski, Chief Executive Officer of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, is optimistic that such events could return by year’s end if capacity limits continue to ease as COVID-19 cases decrease.
“Twenty-twenty-two is shaping up to be an epic year for a concert year,” Komoroski told 3News in an interview. “It could be one of the greatest concert years we ve ever had.”

Cleveland RocksThe co-branding deal between the Cavaliers and the rock hall extends to a small exhibit at the museum showcasing the City Edition jerseys, which Nike designed in collaboration with the hall. The stars have aligned in multiple circumstances for Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. For the first time since Cleveland’s NBA arena opened in 1994, it will host the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
The 2021 event is scheduled for Oct. 30 in front of what is hoped to be a full house with up to 20,000 people, said executives with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team, under the direction of Antony Bonavita, executive vice president of venue operations, runs the facility.
