Rawl, Tigers Continue to Lead ACC Field After Two Rounds

Wilmington, N.C. – Clemson women’s golf shot the best round of the day for the second day in a row to hold on to the top spot following the second day of stroke play in the 2024 ACC Championships. A top-four finish tomorrow would put the Tigers into Sunday’s match-play semifinals as they eye an ACC Championship repeat. Sophomore Isabella Rawl still holds the individual lead, shooting one-under-par on Friday to move to -6 overall. Rawl carded one bogey on the front nine, but turned in a bogey-free back nine with two birdies to hold on to the lead, with Wake Forest’s Rachel Kuehn making a charge.Sydney Roberts carded the best round of the day for the Tigers, nearly matching Rawl’s first round, but finishing at -4. Roberts sank seven birdies on the day, while bogeying the par-four 14th and finishing her front nine with a frustrating double-bogey on nine. Clemson Finishes Second in Stroke Play at ACC Championship

Team Results (PDF) | Individual Results (PDF) Clemson, S.C. - Isabella Rawl and Annabelle Pancake both had rounds of one-under-par 71 on Saturday to lead Clemson to a second-place finish during the 54-hole stroke play portion of the ACC Women’s Golf Championship at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, NC. Clemson now advances to Sunday’s Match Play championship against the University of Virginia. The match will being at 8:00 a.m. Clemson is the number-two seed and Virginia the number-three seed in the semifinals. Wake Forest, the number three ranked team in the nation and the defending NCAA Champion, is the top seed after finishing stroke play with a three-round total of 841. The Demon Deacons will face number-four seed North Carolina, who is ranked 29th in the latest national ranking. Box Score (pdf) PITTSBURGH, PA – Freshman Natalie Shurtleff scored the game tying and game winning goal in overtime to give the Clemson Tigers (10-7, 3-6 ACC) the 12-11 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers (5-12, 0-9 ACC) on Thursday, April 18 in Pittsburgh, PA in their last game of the 2024 regular season.  Ella Little reached 200 career draw controls, while Freshman Regan Byrne led in scoring with four goals and Natalie Shurtleff notched another hat trick. Goalie Emily Lamparter had an impressive showing as she saved 10 of Pitt’s 21 shots on goal and only allowed the Panthers to score two of their 12 free position attempts. Bella D’Gracia played lights out defense as she tied her career high of four caused turnovers.
