Poppie Adds Trio of Coaches to Staff

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson women’s basketball head coach Shawn Poppie announced a trio of additions to his coaching staff on Tuesday. Joining Poppie at Clemson will be assistant coaches Jonathan Goldberg, Katelyn Grisillo, and Jayda Worthy, all of whom are coming to the upstate following time on Poppie’s staff at Chattanooga. Knaak Named ACC Co-Pitcher-of-the-Week

CLEMSON, S.C. - Freshman righthander Aidan Knaak (Fort Myers, Fla.) was named ACC Co-Pitcher-of-the-Week, announced Monday by the league office. He joined Louisville's Sebastian Gongora, who was named ACC Co-Pitcher-of-the-Week, and Wake Forest's Nick Kurtz, who was named ACC Player-of-the-Week, in receiving conference accolades. ACC baseball weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel and are announced on Mondays throughout the regular season. Knaak became the first Tiger freshman to earn ACC Pitcher-of-the-Week honors since 2016 (Alex Eubanks) and the first Tiger first-year freshman since 2013 (Matthew Crownover). Knaak took a no-hitter into the seventh inning at Notre Dame on Sunday. He retired the side in order in five of his first six innings and did not allow a hit until he gave up an infield single in the seventh inning. Tigers Sweep Louisville 4-0, Secure Third Conference Win

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Clemson Tigers secured their first road win of the season with a 4-0 sweep over Louisville. The win marked the Tigers third conference-play victory and their 11th win of 2024 campaign. (Brandon Quote) The Tigers brought the energy early in doubles as the duo of Wissam Abderrahman and Max Damm were first to secure a victory as the took down Louisville's Nakanishi and Donnet 6-1, on court two. Louisville responded with a win on court three to even the doubles score, which left the No. 69 court one duo of Noa Vukadin and Max Smith to finish the job. With a 6-4 victory, Vukadin and Smith tabbed their 13th win of the season and awarded Clemson the doubles point as the Tigers took the 1-0 lead. Clemson continued to bring the heat in singles as the Tigers looked to secure a victory in their last road match of the regular season.
