LEMONT, IL The Lemont Village Board extended the special use approval for the final phase of the Covington Knolls neighborhood at the northeast corner of Covington Drive and 127th Street at its Monday board meeting.
The board had approved the final planned unit development in June 2020, but that approval lapses after a year if site development does not begin. The extension of the special use approval allows the developer an additional 12 months to start site development, according to board documents.
The developer, Gallagher and Henry, prefers to delay the start of the project due to pandemic-related issues, board documents state. The property consists of 7.7 acres at the front of the subdivision off of 127th Street.
