A Massachusetts man got to spend time in the same room with his 93-year-old mother for the first time in 15 months on Mother s Day weekend.Leland Stein, of Arlington, says he has always been close with his mom, Sondra Green, a former Vassar College drama professor who still lives in New York City.Stein and his three brothers would often visit their mother in New York before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Stein still drove down to see his mom for monthly visits, but had to sit outside her window.But mother and son both recently vaccinated against COVID-19, and they got to spend some time together on Mother s Day. I know I m speaking for all of the mothers who have had to be without their children during this time, and the sweet reunion we all will have when we do see our families again, Green said. It feels good. It feels like being home again, Stein said. How lucky am I to have my mother here? Stein is the first of his siblings to get to see his mother in person.
