A contract will be awarded by Gladstone Regional Council this month for the replacement of three water mains in work that will take until May 2022.
Councillors voted on awarding the contract to NTS Group at the recent council meeting.
The three water mains are located in the Gladstone CBD, New Auckland and Clinton.
Tenders for the replacement of the water mains on Sandpiper Avenue, Aerodrome Road and Auckland Street closed on March 9, with four submissions received.
Each submission was assessed by council staff on criteria including price, local content, understanding council requirements, past projects and timing.

Several community events have been allocated funds but not without some concern from a Gladstone Regional councillor.
In a general meeting on April 6, Gladstone Regional Council heard 20 applications were received for community event funding from four funding streams â Jumpstart City Heart, Impact, Destination and Ignite.
Councillors decided to allocate funds to 18 community investment events.
Gladstone Area Promotion Development Limitedâs Fashion Friday event was allocated $2000, Boyne Tannum Arts Business and Community Associationâs Under the Trees Music and Arts Festival received $24,000 with $1000 in kind and Gladstone Ports Corporationâs Port to Park FunD Run was allocated $15,000 in kind.

Subscriber only A new budget and executive has been established for the recently constituted Central Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils. More than $190,000 will be shared between Banana, Central Highlands, Gladstone, Livingstone, Rockhampton and Woorabinda Aboriginal councils to fund activities up until the next financial year. CQROC was established last September after Gladstone Regional Council voted to work with other councils to enhance Central Queensland s economic growth, social capacity and environmental sustainability. The entity was formed following the winding up of the Central Queensland Local Government Association in 2013. In Tuesday s general meeting, Gladstone Regional Council voted unanimously on the established budget between councils.
