James McConville By building new Multi-Domain Task Force units armed with long-range missiles, “what we want to do as a service is provide the combatant commander…multiple options,” the Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Top 25 Law School To Offer Mandatory Course On Racism

March 12, 2021 at 2:32 PM Shares1 In the wake of this past summer’s mass protests and demonstrations following the killing of George Floyd, law schools across the country were inspired to offer their students new ways to respond to calls for racial justice and deal with decades of systemic inequity. One of America’s most elite law schools is now doing something that no other top school has done before by creating a required course on racism and the law. The University of Southern California Gould School of Law announced last month that a course entitled “Race, Racism and the Law” will be a graduation requirement for the class of 2024 and beyond. USC Gould is the first top 25 school to add a mandatory class like this to its curriculum.

Elite Biglaw Firm Raises Salaries For (Some) Associates After Raking In Big Bucks In 2020

8th Year: $340,000 According to global co-chair Frank Ryan, the firm reportedly increased its revenue over the course of 2020, and now it’s literally sharing the wealth with associates outside of major markets. (This is probably a good way for the firm to make up for skipping out on associate appreciation bonuses.) In a memo sent earlier this week (available on the next page), Beth Connor, DLA Piper’s director of lawyer compensation, said, “We believe that this step best reflects who we are as one of the leading national law firms, and the support that all of our associates, regardless of geography, have continued to provide to our clients over the past year.” Way to go, DLA Piper. It’s about time the firm caught up with its competition on salaries.

8 Time Management Tips For Young Lawyers

March 12, 2021 at 5:17 PM Shares6 If you’re an associate, you’re probably thinking, “What?! As if I have any control over my own schedule!” And you’re right, your ability to manage your time will never be perfect. I understand. I was an associate myself for seven-plus years. But there are still some actions you can take to improve your use of time and cut out some of the unnecessary stress. When you are given a new assignment, always ask right away what the deadline is. I can’t tell you how many times as an associate I failed to ask this important question because I said to myself, “This will take no time at all, I can do it right away,” only to have a more urgent task land on my desk and I wished I’d asked upfront instead of begging for more time later on.
