Over three years ago, an idea was formed for a clinic that would serve the students and staff of Legacy Early College as well as the surrounding City View community.
Funded by the St. Francis Foundation a project cost of more than $520,000 the clinic is now open for the school with the hopes of opening access to the community in the next six months to a year. I d like for everybody in this community to have the same access to health care, education, other services that other people in Greenville County have, no matter where they live, William Brown, the school s founder and board chair, said. And, right now that s not true.

The primary care clinic, called Legacy Early College Health Center, will be staffed by a nurse practitioner and a medical assistant, according to a news release. The clinic is near the school at 1010 Woodside Ave. in Greenville. The clinic will give teachers, students and other staff members an affordable and convenient treatment option for everyday illness and injury, from allergic reactions to sprains and strains, as well as lab testing needs, the release said.
“We are grateful to the staff of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System for their hard work in expanding the services we can offer,” William Brown, founder and board chairman for Legacy Early College, said in the release. “At Legacy Early College, we strive for excellence in everything we do. Along with our vision that every scholar gets to and through college, we can now offer free, high-quality medical care to all our staff and scholars. This is a big step forward for our community.”
