(SMYRNA, TN) The Town of Smyrna honored fallen American soldiers at 11:00 o'clock Memorial Day morning beside the Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial in the Lee Victory Park on the Sam Ridley Parkway East.
Smyrna Town Manager Brian Hercules hosted the event.
There was a strong turnout at the Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial on the mostly sunny morning with temperatures in the low 70s. .
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Army Veteran and VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) employee Melvin Gatewood embarked on a 35-mile ruck march today to raise awareness and inspire other Veterans to seek out mental health care resources at TVHS.
The march started at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center and will conclude April 21 around 1 p.m. at the Nashville VA Medical Center.
Community members and Veterans are encouraged to be at the Lee Victory Park rally point in Smyrna on April 19 .

Approximately 600 participants started Smyrna’s annual Top Gun Night Run 6K race to get some exercise, celebrate the community and raise funds for maintenance of the Capt. Jeff Kuss USMC
