Crews from emeryville, oakland, and Alameda County got the fire under acontrol by eight am, but the blackened crane reaching toward the sky is whats keeping them from getting the flames completely out. Those tens of thousands of pounds of metalcould potentially collapse. Thats the last thing we want to do is put firefighters at risk to extinguish fires inside of a building thats still under construction, so were not going to allow any firefighters to go in until that crane is secured.
