Granite City man charged with aggravated stalking

EDWARDSVILLE A Granite City man was charged with felony stalking after multiple violations of a no contact order.
Thomas L. Bamford III, 44, of Granite City, was charged May 26 with aggravated stalking, a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department.
According to court records, between March 1, 2020 and May 25, 2021, Bamford allegedly violated a no contact order filed in Madison County.
Records show six separate incidents, ranging from him standing within 500 feet of the residence, entering the residence’s driveway, using a ladder to view into the residence, leaving Victoria Secret items at the home, and “violently” screaming and yelling while banging on the doors and windows of the residence.

EDWARDSVILLE An Alton man was charged Monday with two counts of battery and threatening a public official.
Charles D. Drake, 52, listed as homeless out of Alton, was charged May 3 with aggravated battery and threatening a public official, both Class 2 felonies, and aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on April 29 Drake allegedly grabbed a woman by the wrist in the parking lot of the U.S. Post Office, 1624 Main St., Alton, struck an Alton Police officer and threatened to take the officer’s gun and shoot them.
