Tonight at ten, 3 deal to save flybe, one of the biggest Regional Airlines in europe, agreed by government and private investors. Its been agreed to put more money into the loss making airline and ministers say they will review air Passenger Duty. The news was welcomed by staff. Absolutely ecstatic, yeah. Im really happy, for myself and my partner works for flybe so its really, really good news for everybody. But the prospect of cutting taxes on flying has angered climate campiagners who say its not consistent with government aims. Cutting air Passenger Duty is just going to make aviation relatively cheaper compared to other forms of transport. Its absolutely the opposite of what we need to be doing.
