Regular business meetings will no longer rotate among the four municipalities served by the district. Special meetings will be scheduled in each community to gather input from residents.
The Regional School Unit 2 board of directors did not accept the $34.5 million budget from the finance committee after hearing testimony from community and staff members about cuts to positions and programs within the budget.
Matt Gilbert was hired in October as the assistant superintendent for Regional School Unit 2, but after former Superintendent Tonya Arnold resigned in February, he stepped up as acting superintendent.
