we have new developments in that shooting of a black 16 year old boy in kansas city, missouri. kansas city star is now reporting that ralph charles is out of the hospital and recovering at home. the team was shot on thursday after police say he went to the wrong house to pick up. his younger brother s witness said that you are was quote very alert but was bleeding from the left side of his head and his right arm while waiting for the ambulance. authorities say the homeowner who cnn has just learned is a white man in his eighties actually shot the team twice. police released the shooter after only two hours in custody without charging it. that move, sparking outrage across the city , with protesters marching over the weekend demanding justice. cnn s camilla bernal has been tracking all of these developments. camila bring us up to speed. what s the latest? hey boris. so we know that ralph is responsive that he is making good progress. the kansas city star talking to his father,
that david police say they have some strong leads here. first of all i feel for you standing outside across the street from yet another shooting location. you and i. we all of our colleagues have done this so many times. but this is unusual and that there doesn t seem to be a suspect at this point. where does the investigation stand? jim, um we have spoken with local law enforcement county law enforcement, the state the federal law enforcement all involved and one would hope or at least expect that they know more than they re saying about a suspect or suspects. they have not said whether they re looking for one person or more than one person if they know specifically the suspect they re looking for, or potentially the suspect. the person responsible is among the list of the victims or those who are in hospitals. no clarity there. but this is what the alabama law enforcement agency is saying. and i wrote it down here. no public safety concern at this time. the follow up then is well, ho
because these things can be targeted at a mall. they can be targeted of any crowded area. charles: it just sounds like it s, it sounds though as if we have to blanket the entire country was some sort of safety mechanism, which sounds extraordinary, like it s highly unlikely. what s the next step here in america so that people feel at least safe? do we look at vital resources, oil fields, and leave it to the government? bowls are all great questions. what i would do if i was advising president trump, i would make sure aid and legislation is in place to be able to enforce these laws, specifically to these civilian man drones that could be targeted against civilians. number two, i would make sure that there is at least a minimal amount of radar equipment that s given out to our security services, whether it s law enforcement county, state,

i think for one thing that event changed the way states prepare themselves. as a state we never really worried about homeland security until that event occurred. now local law enforcement county and state law enforcement worked together in dealing with preparations for these kinds of matters. so i think that particularly has changed and i think our way of life of course has changed dramatically. i think people are absolutely more patriotic today. more pride in america. and we ll see it of course over the weekend. i think it s changed our views and our attitudes towards life a lot. what about that sense of togetherness that we all remember so fondly in the days after 9/11. all the tributes and the concerts and the people, talking to strangers. what happened to that? on the-year-oa yearly basis
