now jenkins was an assistant district attorney and worked in this office for about seven years before she resigned to join the campaign to recall chesa boudin. jenkins is someone who pretty much checked off all of the boxes that mayor breed was looking for in boudin s replacement. she is someone who has experience as a prosecutor and intimately knows this office. she is also someone who agrees with progressive reform, but not quite to the extent of boudin. now earlier today i spoke with supervisor matadoressy, who voted to recall boudin and today praised jenkins as the right choice for san francisco. i think brooke jenkins represents the kind of progressive prosecutor who will get that office working in tandem with other offices. i think on the issues that we re facing in san francisco, on public safety, on open-air drug dealing, on a lot of criminal justice related things, it s important for city leaders to be rowing in the same direction. and i think that is going to be
