Few things invite the potential for complacency more than a 50-point victory earlier in the season.
That was the dilemma facing the Franklin girls basketball team Friday night as it prepared to host Greenwood in a Mid-State Conference contest. The Grizzly Cubs, ranked eighth in Class 4A, moved to 9-0 with a 77-29 victory.
The same squads met in November on the same hardwood with the Cubs prevailing, 75-25.
Franklin junior guard Kuryn Brunson led all scorers with 24 points before checking out of the game for good with 6:34 remaining in the final quarter. Senior guard Kyra Baker added 15 points with freshman forward Erica Buening scoring 10 off the bench for the Cubs, who remain tied with Martinsville atop the league standings at 3-0.
