Nearly 1 year later, still no answers in Cape Coral woman s disappearance

It has been nearly a year since a Cape Coral woman disappeared, and detectives said Wednesday they’re still not close to a break in the case. Lauren Dumolo was reportedly last seen June 19 at her apartment on Coronado Parkway, according to police. The same day, someone found her purse at Four Freedoms Park on Tarpon Court, which she visited frequently. She was reported missing June 21, and her cell phone was found in her apartment. Since then, there has been no sign of the mother, leaving her family – and investigators – searching for clues. The lead detective said that while people have offered a lot of tips, they’re still no closer to solving the 30-year-old’s disappearance.

Police say they are at beginning of investigation at Cape Coral site

Neighbors who watched the media briefing said they were not happy about the activity. I hate the attention this brought this whole area, said Billie Bonck, who lives one street away from the excavation site. It s disturbing. I walk my dogs through here. Bonck said the area is peaceful and quiet and supposed to be safe. She said a neighbor who has lived in the area for 30 years has no idea what may have happened. I asked him, did you know them , she said. He said not really . Sizemore and Marceno said that their personnel were acting on an anonymous tip. They would not say what that tip entailed or what was being sought in the back yard of the gray ranch house at Country Club and SE 7th Place.
