Electronic Arts (EA) announced widespread layoffs, cutting over 650 jobs, as part of a major restructuring effort. The company is cancelling a Star Wars first-person shooter game and focusing on its biggest franchises. Severance packages and job placement assistance are being offered to affected employees. The estimated cost of the restructuring is between $125-165 million.
