Assam government pays off loan debts for 428 women beneficiaries from Karbi Anglong

Our Correspondent Diphu, Nov. 1 (EMN): Under the Assam Micro-Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme (AMFIRS), 2021 for the category – II, a total of 428 women beneficiaries from Karbi Anglong who took loans from various micro-finance institutions, were given relief by the Assam government. The relief cheques were distributed by HAD Minister, Jugen Mohan in the presence of the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang in a ceremonial distribution held at Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Town Hall in Diphu on Tuesday. The minister while addressing the gathering said that Karbi Anglong is no longer a backward district while citing that the district is progressing very fast. He said, “My job is to facilitate the bringing of funds and clear the files as soon as possible. No work will be pending. KAAC distributes cash and appliances to farmers

Our Correspondent Diphu, Oct. 31 (EMN): In a joint programme organised by Sericulture and Irrigation departments under Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), a total of 130 active silkworm farmers received a cash award of INR 10,000 and rearing appliances, while the Irrigation department distributed canvas pipes to farmers of tubewell scheme under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) – Har Khet Ko Pani Phase – II. Another 336 farmers also received electricity bill debit from the government under the same scheme PMKSY – Har Khet Ko Pani for irrigating their farmlands, in a distribution programme held at Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Town Hall here on Monday. Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang said the PMKSY – Kar Khet Ko Pani was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expand cultivated areas with assured irrigation, reduce wastage of water and improve water use efficiency.
