Olympic-sized dreams don t happen overnight.For Conestoga Valley junior Casey Kaufhold, they began at her family s archery ranges in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County. The degree of commitment is almost literally mind-boggling, coach Bryan Brady said.Those hours of practice at the Lancaster Archery Academy paid off.With Brady s help, Kaufhold earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic archery team and is now taking aim at a gold medal. Top seeds Lancaster Archery Supply won the recurve discipline at the Indoor Archery World Series Finals.
The competition, held remotely, pitted the top four teams following the conclusion of the Indoor Archery World Series.
The four teams involved Lancaster Archery Supply, The Golden Arrow, Netherlands and Beiter took part in two semi-finals with the winners advancing to a final to decide the recurve champion.
Each match featured three individual contests and a team game, with each match lasting 12 arrows.
In the final, Lancaster Archery Supply, shooting from the United States National Training Centre in California took on The Golden Arrow, who were shooting from the Olympic Preparation Centre in Vittel, France.
