The Supreme Court on Monday referred to the Allahabad High Court verdict in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence matter and questioned the detailed examination of evidence like postmortem report while granting bail to Ashish Mishra, son of Union minister Ajay Mishra, in the case.
The Supreme Court reserved its order in the appeal filed by family members of the deceased in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident challenging the order of the Allahabad High Court granting bail to prime accused Ashish Mishra.
The CJI-led bench hearing the petition against the bail given to the Union minister's son in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, also wondered how the HC could have gone into the merits of the case.
