Shelter order lifted after massive fire at K-Solv facility in Channelview KTRK A massive fire burned for hours Wednesday afternoon at an industrial facility on Lakeside Drive in the Channelview area. K-Solv tweeted that all of their employees are safe and accounted for. 4/7/21 – There is an active situation occurring at the K-Solv Chemicals facility located in Channelview, TX. All employees are safe and accounted for. Firefighters and response crews are responding to the scene. Officials later added that one person sought medical treatment for respiratory issues. A shelter-in-place order has now been lifted for Lakeside Park Estates and Lakeview Homes, according to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.

Large industrial fire under control in Channelview area, company says employees safe and accounted for By Ronnie Marley According to the Fire Marshal s Office, the fire occurred at K-Solv, located at 1000 Lakeside Drive. Mikie Sopccak, Director of Environmental Health Safety and Security for the K-Solv, said during a news conference Wednesday evening that a drum transfer was occurring there was an ignition source.  Sopccak couldn t say what type of chemicals were ignited or what burned during the large fire.  Sopccak said that 56 employees, 5 of which were located at the warehouse where the fire occurred, were all accounted for.  Advertisement The Harris County Fire Marshal s Office said numerous agencies responded with foam to extinguish the fire. Known chemiclas on site include, but not limited to: hydrochloric acid, acetone, ethanol, ethlyene dichloride, and other acids.
