Meredith prepares for town meeting
March 03, 2021MEREDITH Town Meeting is on March 9, and town officials are getting ready from putting safety measures in place to making planning some budget changes from the floor.
Meredith will hold an in-person town meeting on Wednesday, March 9, at Inter-Lakes High School with several protective measures. Town manager Phil Warren updated the selectmen during Monday s meeting on what town meeting would look like this year.
Voting is scheduled for March 9 and will take place with social distancing, masking recommendations, and protective screens for poll workers. Warren said these measures worked well for the elections last year.
January 28, 2021MEREDITH Meredith will have a physical town meeting this year with plans for social distancing and live streaming.
The board of selectmen discussed the now official plan during Tuesday s meeting. Town Manager Phil Warren said they now have a concrete plan in place for an in-person but socially distanced town meeting on March 10.
Town Meeting will take place in Inter-Lakes Middle High School as usual, but the meeting will be divided between the gym, the auditorium, and the music room with all three areas interconnected.
Warren said there will be a test run of the meeting s setup to work out any logistics and issues that come up. He also said since the Inter-Lakes School District will have their annual meeting before town meeting, that gives them a second opportunity to work out details beforehand.
