The National Register of Historic Places has just added a dozen places in Michigan to its discriminative list of real estate. To identify, evaluate, and protect America s historic and archeological resources, is the mission of the National Register of Historic Places. Once named, the buildings are eligible for certain tax provisions and may qualify for Federal grants for historic preservation. Also , you can hang a nifty plaque out front.
The National Register of Historic Places has just recognized these 12 places in Michigan as historic and worthy of preservation.

LANSING, MI – Twelve historic properties across Michigan were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation has announced.

The former Warren Motor Car Company Building at 1331 Holden St. A brick multi-story apartment building, two blocks of Michigan Avenue and an old car factory-turned-recycling center are the latest Detroit additions to the National Register of Historic places, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation annonced Monday. The 30-unit Great Lakes Manor, located at 457 East Kirby in Midtown, gained the status because it was one of the first (buildings) in the city to rent to African American individuals at a time when housing discrimination was rampant, the MEDC said. Also added were the old Warren Motor Car Company Building, now the site of the nonprofit Recycle Here!, and a two-block stretch of vacant storefronts along the south side of Michigan Avenue, from 3301 3461.
John Rhodes, developer of numerous commercial buildings and residential communities, dies at age 80

John H. Rhodes, the founder of the Rhodes Development Group died at the age of 80.
Rhodes had been an active mortgage banker, real estate developer, property manager, and investor in the Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, and State College areas for more than 55 years.
He was the founder of the Lemoyne-based Rhodes Development Group, a real estate development and holding company, and the parent company of Property Management, Inc. also known as PMI, which manages approximately 17,000 residential units and six million square feet of commercial space; Rhodes Construction Solutions, which builds and renovates single-family dwellings, multifamily projects and commercial buildings; CF Acri & Son, an HVAC and plumbing company; Capital View Development Co., and other related real estate partnerships.
