LEESBURG More than 193,000 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines in Lake and Sumter counties, based on Wednesday’s county update from the Florida Department of Health.
Of the 193,376 who have received a dose of the Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Lake and Sumter counties since the state began its vaccination program in December, 119,376 were in Lake and 74,258 were in Sumter.
All told, 120,775 of those vaccinated, including 69,903 in Lake and 50,872 in Sumter, completed the two-shot series Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, or the single dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson through Tuesday – the information contained in Wednesday’s update. The majority in Lake and Sumter counties – 67,185 in Lake and 47,694 in Sumter – received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines.
