That old pearl of wisdom, “damned if you do and damned if you don’t” seems an accurate description of Prince Edward council’s recent attempts to address the concerns of local residents.
Pressure to take action in controlling the problems created by last year’s tourist tsunami in the county, councillors surveyed community residents to pinpoint the areas of key concern. Illegal parking was among them. Locals were tired of having visitors clog the roads in long line-ups to enter Sandbanks Provincial Park. There were complaints about blocked driveways and visitors parking in no-parking zones. Councillors listened and took action to address this issue.
