I needed a grounding in order to be able to write this book about a woman who is really just absolutely magnificent when you read the book, youll be blown away by her life. Now, many folks here in this room and of course at mt. Vernon, this is no new story. We know about ona judge and you are among a small group of people who actually now happy there are many more who know her. This expectation. I want her name to become one of those sort of household names, like a frederick douglass, lake Harriet Tubman because she rubbed away decade before they do. The word on the floor, first of all, the s p 500 closed at a record high just about one out of every five trading days so far this year. Cnbc data crunchers look at the s p and said, hey, 17 of the times or 27 times this year, weve closed at a record high for the s p 500. So not too shabby. The odds are good. Now, if you take a look at the overall picture for where the markets are headed, weve seen a nice move higher, despite fed concerns out there. Look at the sectors leading the way, financials and technology. The biggest sectors in the s p 500, that gives the bulls some bullishness or bullish feel about the whole thing. Take a look at some of the stocks that are moving. Big names like hormel on earnings. President obama today continues his twoday trip to minneapolis. Yesterday he pledged to help that state in their recovery from massive flooding over the past month. Reportseapolis tribune that the president told a town hall audience yesterday that they will have a Strong Partner when they know how severe the damage is. I told the governor we will be there as we get some clarity about the damage and what needs to be done, obama said. The Dayton Administration is currently preparing a federal disaster request that could eventually free of federal aid.
