Council members also agreed to a $99,000 budget for a new parking system with barrier gates at the Town Marina.

Improvements to Lake Drive Park will cost less than expected after town officials agreed to slash spending on portions of the project.
Director of Public Works Paul Brazil and his staff trimmed about $600,000 from the estimated cost of the project by switching from pavers to asphalt for resurfacing the adjacent Town Marina parking lot, reducing the project s contingency fund to less than 10 percent and negotiating an additional $32,000 in cost reductions.
Williams contributed the project design pro bono, using input from council members and the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The landmarks board approved the plans in February, but some changes were made in an effort to reduce the cost of the project, Public Works Director Paul Brazil said.
Ultimately, about $1.4 million was trimmed.
Changes include using standard pavers instead of pricier permeable pavers in new 4-foot-wide paths that will link the Lake Trail recreational path with Lake Drive.
Standard pavers also will be used to resurface the 10-foot-wide section of the Lake Trail that runs through the park.
Additional changes include using asphalt to resurface the adjacent Town Marina parking lot, and placing gravel instead of mulch around trees.
