Friday afternoon. He is a good leader and hes very professional. Very compassionate. Does a very good job of organization. Hes a great guy, and i wish him well. Family, friends, city leaders and dignitaries came together to give their best wishes to ford. To me, hes like the captain of the ship. The Police Department was the ship. His hand was always on the helm no matter what happened. He knew where he wanted to go. He came on to the force more than 40 years ago, promoted to sergeant on january 1st 1979, and promoted to chief of police over 26 years ago on september 19th , 1989. He handles things in a very even handed manner. He doesnt treat anybody any differently than anyone else, and he handles his force the same way. I think they all respect him for that.
