A 1-year-old girl was killed Saturday morning after a tree fell on her family s home in Pearl River County during a storm.
Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage said heavy rain caused the tree to fall on the home, located on Stanford Lake Road, at around 3:30 a.m.
The child, Raegan Mae Lee, was 22 months old and sleeping in her bedroom at the time, according to a GoFundMe page, which was set up to cover funeral expenses and damages to the family s home. Their baby girl was so sweet and precious, GoFundMe organizer Lainey Aschenbach of Lumberton wrote on the page. She could always put a smile on your face with her little smile and chubby cheeks. She loved to play outside and loved to play with her big brother.
