Nats removing trees off the truck crushed beneath a fallen tree is William Browns truck. Its where he nearly lost his life wednesday, when a tornado plowed through the town of waverly. Minor burn. A man and woman got out from the first floor. A woman and a child also got out from the second floor, according to investigators. It started around 2 00 this morning on kingston avenue. Thats near cape view avenue, just one block behind West Ocean View avenue. Now here is a still picture of the scene from the norfolk fire department. You can see just how intense the flames got. A spokesman told us more than 30 firefighters responded to the scene. Dominion virginia power crews responded because of a downed power line from the fire. Breaking news out of norfolk. Firefighters are on the scene of a deadly duplex fire on kingston avenue. It started around two this morning in ocean view. And thats where we find bush. Rico youve been at the scene talking to breaking news, local students are getting a poweroutage day. A spokeswoman with york county Public Schools tell us Bruton High School will be closed for the day. Students and teachers will not have class.
