Donors rolled up in golf carts, Teslas and well-used Toyotas to drop off peanut butter and tuna for waiting volunteers from the Laguna Beach Democratic Club (LBDC) for its food drive to benefit the Laguna Food Pantry. In just three hours, the club collected 457 pounds of shelf-stable proteins, plus a few checks totaling several hundred dollars.
On Saturday, Dec. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. The South Laguna Community Garden Park will host its 14th Annual Holiday Sing-Along. Neighbors and friends are invited to bring treats, their singing voices and even instruments to accompany the Laguna Beach Ukulele Academy as they perform songs guaranteed to spread holiday cheer. The garden committee will provide beverages and songbooks.
The Laguna Beach Patriots Day Parade committee has announced the honorees for next year's event. Rick Shoemaker, a 54-year resident, will serve as grand marshal.
